Southeast Stormwater Association's Privacy Policy
The Southeast Stormwater Association (SESWA) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the SESWA collects, uses and safeguards information on www.seswa.org, SESWA profiles, SESWA social media sites and any other digital services and properties operated or used by SESWA (Sites).
Information We Collect Personal Information: We may collect information that identifies you when you interact and provide such information on our Sites such as when applying for membership or registering for a SESWA event. The types of information collected on our Sites will vary based on the services offered, but may include, among other things, your name, address, phone number, billing and email address, credit card or other financial account information. All financial information is only collected on a temporary basis to process payments as per Payment Card Industry standards.
How We Use and Share your Information Once collected, we may use your information in a variety of ways including:
- Provide service communications such as renewal reminders, event confirmations, and customer service messages
- Answer your emails or online requests
- Deliver and process surveys
- Personalize and improve the usability of the Sites
- Fulfill and/or deliver SESWA products and services
- Publish membership directories and registration lists as described below
- Share or use your information and email address as described below
Publication of Your Information for Membership Directories and Registration Lists As a professional organization, the information you provide may be published on the Sites and in print or digital form in a variety of ways to allow other members to find you, including, but not limited to, directories, membership lists, and other types of registration lists for SESWA programs and events (“Directory Lists”). Directory Lists will not include sensitive information, such as credit card or bank information, or email addresses. Users may request their information be suppressed from Directory Lists by contacting the SESWA office.
Sharing Your Information and Email Address SESWA may share your name, business address, business telephone number, and business email address with certain sponsors and vendors affiliated with SESWA events. We do not share, sell or rent email addresses.
Photography at Events SESWA may take photos of participants at various events. These photos are for SESWA use only and may appear on SESWA’s website, in printed brochures, or other promotional materials. Your registration grants SESWA permission and consent for use of this photography on our Sites or at events.
Sharing your Personally Identifiable Information to Fulfill Service Requests When fulfilling service requests initiated by you, we may share your information with certain third parties to fulfill the requests. Information security SESWA implements commercially reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. We restrict access to personal information to SESWA’s business partners who may need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services.
User ID and password Certain areas of the Sites may require the use of a user ID, email address or password as an additional security measure that helps protect your information. To help you protect your privacy, the SESWA Sites have clear tools to help you log in and log out. If you are a registered user of the Sites, you may review and update/correct your information directly on the SESWA’s website—seswa.org—or by contacting us.
SESWA will not disclose your information, without notice, unless required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on SESWA or its website, or (b) protect and defend the rights or property of SESWA and its website.
SESWA’s website may contain links to third-party sites. While SESWA tries to link only to sites that share its high standards and respect for privacy, the Association is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices employed by other sites.
