With the recent influx of grant funding through the American Rescue Plan Act and other sources, there have been unprecedented opportunities for implementation of critical infrastructure improvement projects. Communities across the Southeast have received considerable funding for many long overdue stormwater system enhancements. This single-day seminar offered the opportunity to learn from experts presenting a comprehensive overview of stormwater design projects designed to reduce flooding, improve water quality, enhance resiliency, improve habitat, and minimize impacts from future development.  The seminar reviewed funded infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast and provided ideas for managing and implementing needed stormwater improvements in your community.  

Who Attended?
Local and state engineers and stormwater managers, directors of public works, policymakers and regulators; civil and environmental engineers; landscape architects and consultants; and environmentalists and interested citizens.

The registration fee included full access to all Seminar events including access to presentations and exhibitors, a morning coffee break, a lunch, and an afternoon break. Presentations will be accessible online to registered attendees after the event for one year. SESWA members were eligible to receive a discounted registration rate! There was also an early-bird discount for all registrations received before March 1, 2024.  Refunds were available (minus a $25 processing fee) for cancellations received in writing prior to April 4, 2024.

Continuing Education
Professional Engineers attending this Seminar were eligible for up to 5.00 continuing education credits.  SESWA offers continuing education for Professional Engineers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  Of these states, Florida and North Carolina require that continuing education providers be approved in advance.  SESWA is an approved provider for Professional Engineers for Florida (#0004288) and North Carolina.

Hotel
The Seminar was held at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North located at 7 Concourse Parkway NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30328.  A block of rooms was reserved at a rate of $169/night.  The deadline to receive the discounted room rate was April 4, 2024 or when the room block sells out, whichever comes first.  

Ground Transportation & Parking
Please contact the Westin Perimeter North at 770-395-3900 and ask for the Concierge for suggestions on transportation to the hotel.  Self-parking was $10/day for all SESWA delegates.

Service Project
SESWA was excited to partner with the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Gwinnett County, GA Water Resources for a Cleanup Project the day before the Seminar on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.  Registered participants cleaned a section of the north fork of Peachtree Creek at the Silverbacks Stadium.
